Diane has more than 35 years of healthcare industry experience in various roles including as a clinician, nursing leader and consultant. She has a track record of developing and implementing strategic change in the areas of resource management, clinical delivery transformation, reducing unwarranted variation, perioperative nursing, supply chain and physician engagement.
Diane has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 35 years, taking on various roles as a clinician, nursing leader and consultant. She is one of the leaders of Huron’s cost and clinical solution and has responsibility for the firm’s perioperative services capability. Diane has led a diverse set of healthcare organizations including prestigious academic health centers, pediatric facilities, large integrated delivery networks and community hospitals through performance improvement assessments and implementations.
Diane collaborates with healthcare leaders on a range of financial and operational initiatives to manage expenses and modernize clinical and supply chain processes. She is an expert in helping organizations transform clinical care delivery through improvements in patient flow, interdisciplinary rounding, governance, discharge planning and perioperative and emergency department operations.
Throughout her career, Diane has:
- Led a large, integrated engagement at a hospital system in California that focused on driving down sepsis mortality rates, reducing length of stay by 1.8 days with readmission reductions as high as 50%.
- Ran a successful perioperative engagement at an academic health center in the Northeast, where she implemented more than $10.5 million in benefit in physician preference items in spine, cardiology, orthopedics and other areas.
- Managed a variety of performance improvement engagements for academic health centers, identifying opportunities to capture savings through more robust supply chain, pharmacy and laboratory operations.
Prior to joining Huron in 2007, Diane served as a director in the clinical consulting group for Broadlane, Inc., a GPO, clinical supply and operations management organization. She has also held nurse executive roles at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Indiana and The Aroostook Medical Center (now Northern Light Health) in Maine.
