About Kathleen
For more than 20 years, Kathleen has led transformational projects for healthcare clients, aligning people, processes and technology to drive sustainable organizational success and increased revenue. She has expertise in strategic and operational leadership, mergers and acquisitions, managed care, workflow automation, service-level agreements, budget development, clinical electronic health record integration, and managing profit and loss.
Throughout her career, Kathleen has:
- Delivered numerous improvements for a major health system spanning 23 states with a net patient revenue of $27.2 billion, including optimizing the revenue cycle, implementing new technology, formulating profitable growth strategies, and leading multicultural and remote teams.
- Led the development of various training modalities for physician training for ICD-10 for a health system in the Pacific Northwest with seven hospitals and over 200 outpatient clinics, with a training success rate of 95% for more than 2,000 physicians.
- Improved the regional performance of four healthcare facilities by reducing accounts receivable days by 28 days through process improvement and developing feedback loops and staff skills assessments and training, including offshore staff.
Prior to Huron, Kathleen served as chief operating officer and senior vice president of Superior Revenue Solutions. She held the role of vice president of revenue cycle optimization at Optum360 and director of revenue cycle, information technology, patient access and health information management at Bell Memorial Hospital. Kathleen’s career also includes consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Kathleen earned her Master of Arts in organizational management and her Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Phoenix. She holds a Lean Six Sigma green belt from Purdue University. Kathleen is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Medical Group Management Association, the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange.
