Katie has more than 25 years of nursing and healthcare education experience that she brings to her work helping organizations improve the patient experience and quality of care.
Katie has more than two decades of experience in nursing, healthcare education, executive coaching, clinical and operations leadership that she brings to every one of her clients. She works with healthcare organizations across the country to enhance their teams, improve employee engagement and deliver a stronger patient experience.
Katie’s experience ranges from working with small community hospitals to regional referral and trauma center hospitals and integrated health systems. She specializes in executive coaching, as well as helping teams redefine their processes and culture to increase patient and family perceptions of care and improve quality outcomes.
Throughout her career, Katie has led organizations starting at a 1st percentile patient experience ranking reach and sustain 99th percentile rankings. She has also helped implement techniques that led to 25% patient satisfaction increases. She has helped maintain systemwide highest performance in employee engagement, as well as reducing and eliminating serious safety events.
Prior to joining Huron, Katie held leadership roles at Memorial Hospital, Sampson Regional Medical Center, Borgess Health System and IU Health System. She is a member of multiple industry associations including the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
