Larry has more than 30 years of financial leadership and advisory experience across multiple sectors, including industrial manufacturing, business services and healthcare. He has extensive expertise bringing financial leadership to situations mired in change, where he spearheads initiatives focused on operating improvement, cash generation and balance sheet restructuring to drive improvements in profitability and higher liquidity.
For more than three decades as a corporate executive and external adviser, Larry has held numerous vice president and interim roles where he has worked closely with owners and sponsors, management teams, employees, lenders and other advisers to help stabilize and drive change and improvements for businesses.
He has served as interim chief financial officer (CFO) for numerous companies, including a sponsor-backed, multilocation provider of durable medical equipment to the hospice industry; a family-owned manufacturing company serving customers in the agriculture and off-highway industries; and a sponsor-backed manufacturer of cakes and pies sold to national, regional and local discount retail chains, warehouse clubs and grocery stores.
Additionally, he has served as financial adviser for many engagements, including a sponsor-backed $300 million international cargo airline; a sponsor-backed services provider to the healthcare and insurance industries, focused on blood sampling and collection in conjunction with health and safety standards and compliance; a private family-held manufacturer of parts for the agriculture and off-highway markets; and a large state-run hospital system during the acquisition of a $270 million rupee local community hospital.
Prior to joining Huron, Larry served as the vice president of corporate development and CFO at GKN Sinter Metals, the world’s largest manufacturer of sintered metal parts for automotive and industrial applications. In this role, he guided the financial activities of 35 plants in eight countries and oversaw mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity during the acquisition of 10 companies, which increased annual revenue by $300 million over three years.
Larry is a member of the board of directors for Something Sweet Inc. and the treasurer for the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
Larry holds a Master of Business Administration in marketing from Loyola University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified turnaround professional (CTP).
