Maria has nearly 30 years of healthcare leadership, human resource management and staff development experience that she applies to help organizations transform employee and physician engagement.
With more than 27 years of healthcare leadership, human resource management and staff development experience, Maria is an expert in working with healthcare organizations to transform their culture. She specializes in instructional design and creative problem solving, helping leadership teams make necessary changes to improve employee and physician engagement, as well as patient perception of care.
Throughout her career, Maria has designed education and training programs to deliver the Evidence-Based LeadershipSM framework to organizational leaders and over 1,600 staff members. She has led the development of numerous dashboards, skill labs and other resources to increase performance transparency across healthcare organizations, facilitate a change in culture and improve patient perception of care. She has also worked with leadership teams to create and manage organizational reward and recognition programs to measurably improve staff and physician engagement.
Prior to joining Huron, Maria spent nine years as a staff educator at a large national health system, where she was responsible for advising teams on ways to enhance performance and increase safety and quality.
