Matthew has 20 years of experience guiding management teams, boards and investors through corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A), restructuring and financial strategy.
Matthew is an M&A, restructuring and financial advisory expert with two decades of consulting and leadership experience. He has executed transactions and advised on strategic initiatives for organizations across a multitude of industries including automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, higher education and life sciences.
Matthew specializes in working with leadership teams of stressed and distressed organizations to navigate M&A, divestitures, court-supervised restructuring and corporate strategy initiatives. Throughout his career, he has served in chief restructuring officer, interim chief financial officer and other executive roles to support businesses through sale proceedings, bankruptcy filings, liquidity challenges, court-supervised receiverships and other transitional matters.
Prior to joining Huron, Matthew was the director of corporate development for Delphi Automotive LLP, a $16 billion global automotive supplier, where he was responsible for the execution of M&A transactions and corporate strategy across all divisions worldwide. Previously he served as a director at KPMG where he performed restructuring services and buy- and sell- side due diligence for both private equity and corporate clients. He also worked in the restructuring and transaction services practices of Grant Thornton.
Matthew has been on the teams awarded the Turnaround Management Association’s (TMA) 2015 small transaction of the year for the restructuring of Lee Steel, and the TMA’s 2019 deal of the year for the sale of Arcadia Home Care. While at Delphi Automotive, he was awarded Crain’s deal of the year over $100 million for the firm’s acquisition of FCI’s motorized vehicles division.
