Michael is a senior consultant with over 30 years of experience advising higher education institutions through efforts to transform their operations and financial systems.
Michael has more than three decades of demonstrated expertise helping large institutions build the infrastructure to operate more efficiently. He specializes in leading clients through strategic planning and policy development, process redesigns, and technology implementations to ultimately improve financial performance.
Over the course of his career, Michael has:
- Led multiple large public research institutions through efforts to reduce costs by designing shared services models for human resources (HR), finance, research administration and information technology (IT) functions.
- Overseen several comprehensive performance improvement studies for universities, encompassing enrollment management, financial aid, student services, research and other administrative functions.
- Conducted IT department assessments for several research institutions to identify opportunities to improve organizational structure, funding, staffing levels, governance and procurement.
Michael was previously a principal at Arthur Andersen and one of the founding members of Huron. He has also held leadership roles at PwC and EY. He is a member and frequent speaker at industry events sponsored by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and EDUCAUSE.
