Philip is a senior executive with more than 25 years of management and operations experience in multiple industries, including energy, finance, business and law. He specializes in complex deal structuring and negotiations, strategic advising, project financing, asset valuation, capital raising, financial forecasting and modeling, public reporting, hedging and investor relations.
Philip has served in numerous leadership roles within public and private companies, overseeing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), troubled company turnarounds, capital raising, commodity hedging, and public company reporting for domestic and international companies. He has specific expertise in the global energy market sector, closing multiple large energy transactions for multimillion- and multibillion-dollar companies.
Throughout his career, Philip has:
- Served as the chief financial officer to an offshore West Africa oil operator, where he led the successful turnaround and a near-tripling of the company’s stock price following an exchange delisting notice, a going concern warning, lender issues and an expiring concession.
- Served as the head of business development for a $10 billion enterprise value public multinational company, where he successfully restructured the company’s $2.2 billion Canadian oil sands business and conducted numerous net asset value (NAV) analyses, deal structurings and negotiations in support of the company’s activities.
- Practiced energy law for four years and served as a briefing attorney to U.S. District Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt of the Southern District of Texas.
Phil holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin.
