Suz brings more than two decades of clinical and healthcare leadership experience to her work helping organizations strengthen their internal culture, develop their teams and improve quality of care.
With more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience as a leader and staff nurse, Suz is passionate about working with healthcare organizations to drive effectiveness and engagement. She specializes in coaching healthcare leaders to create cultures of accountability, engage their workforce and understand what creates a superior patient experience.
Throughout her career, Suz has:
- Collaborated with emergency department leadership and staff to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
- Coached a critical access hospital staff of more than 400 to increase employee engagement, moving the overall satisfaction from the 27th percentile to the 90th percentile.
- Improved an organization’s HCAHPS scores by 9.9 percentage points for overall rating of care, 7.6 percentage points for responsiveness, 4.7 percentage points for nurse communication, and 7.8 percentage points for cleanliness over two years.
- Served as a valuable team member of the first healthcare provider in the state of California to receive the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award.
Prior to joining Huron, Suz spent 11 years at Sharp HealthCare, a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige Award for quality. In that role, she led her team to improve patients’ perception of care from the 9th percentile to the 86th percentile and sustained those results consistently for more than six years.
