Case Study: Woman's Hospital - Physician Revenue Cycle
Woman's Hospital sought to create consistent patient processes and align organizational structure across the system. Having recently worked with Huron on a successful hospital revenue cycle initiative, Woman's leadership engaged Huron once again to improve and standardize processes throughout the physician revenue cycle.
Huron streamlined processes and updated procedures across the physician revenue cycle, increasing productivity and quality. Tools to track and improve performance were put in place, leading to an increase in patients financially secure at admission. Huron realigned organizational structure and FTE levels to increase efficiency and meet industry best practices. A high-risk review process was implemented to help directors and managers understand resolve issues impacting aging, denials and avoidable write-offs. Points of service collections were also established to help meet collection goals.
"We had great success on the hospital revenue cycle project and sustained that success over time," said Greg Smith, vice president and CFO, Woman's Hospital. "We wanted to put the same improvements and processes in place for the physician revenue cycle and have seen the same level of success in that area."Download Now
