Academic Medicine Investment in Medical Research: Technical Report
Declining federal research support and mounting budgetary pressures means funding for medical research is at risk.
A recent AAMC report, Academic Medicine Investment in Medical Research: Technical Report, presents findings on the comprehensive investment in medical research across 45 medical schools surveyed.
Among the schools surveyed by AAMC and Huron Consulting Group receiving between $26 million and $751 million in external funding, the average medical school investment was an additional $0.53 for each dollar of sponsored research received.
