Michigan State University Goes Live with Huron's IRB Solution
Among the country's top research institutions, the university has modernized its IRB and prepared for Common Rule changes.
Michigan State University (MSU) is one of the country's leading research institutions, with nearly $600 million in external funding in 2016-2017. As such, the institution is charged with ensuring strong research compliance to empower its legacy of extraordinary research.
After issuing a request for proposals, MSU engaged Huron to meet its research compliance needs. Huron collaborated with MSU to integrate its Research Software Suite with the institution's Kuali Coeus grants system, bring practical process recommendations to the table and engage with an active community of other institutions using the Huron Research Software Suite.
In just eight months, MSU planned, implemented and went live with Huron IRB 8.0. Huron IRB now provides the institution with full support for their IRB workflows, improving the researcher, administrator and reviewer experiences with functionality to support the revised Common Rule as well as a dynamic, real-time integration with MSU's grants system.
