While a shared services approach is commonplace in many industries, it is a relatively new concept in higher education.
Huron partnered with the University of Kansas and methodically analyzed the operations of almost every business function, reviewing each for both efficiency and effectiveness in the context of the overall university goals. Huron and Kansas concluded that the university would be best served by the creation of eight shared-services centers, aligned by functional needs.
