Costa has more than 20 years of leadership and healthcare consulting experience, with a focus on process improvement, project implementation and strategic planning for academic health centers, multifacility healthcare systems and community hospitals.
About Costa
Costa has been with Huron since it was founded in May 2002. He has taken on various leadership roles over that time, including healthcare leadership team member, client services executive, co-leader of Huron’s academic health center market segment, revenue cycle leadership team member and regional leader. Costa has led various multidisciplinary projects across the country to help healthcare organizations improve operational efficiency, enhance quality, drive tangible financial and nonfinancial benefits, and increase stakeholder engagement.
During his time at Huron, he has:
- Assessed over 50 hospitals and healthcare systems to determine areas of financial, operational and technology improvement.
- Led over 25 multidisciplinary performance improvement engagements for hospitals, health systems, academic health centers and physician groups.
- Managed numerous revenue cycle redesign initiatives involving all aspects of revenue cycle operations (patient access, health information management and patient financial services) to implement and maintain net revenue enhancement programs, cash acceleration programs, cost reduction initiatives and technology systems implementation.
Costa is a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Prior to joining Huron, Costa served as a consultant at Arthur Andersen.
Costa holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from DePaul University and is a certified public accountant in Illinois.
