Dr. Adam Holzberg brings more than 25 years of clinical practice experience and 15 years as a physician leader. He collaborates with healthcare organizations to improve provider engagement, operational efficiency, and patient experience, drawing on his background in academic medicine, clinical leadership, and data-driven performance improvement.
About Dr. Holzberg
Adam works with healthcare organizations, academic medical centers, and group practices to strengthen provider engagement, leadership development, patient experience, and clinical operations. As a practicing clinician and physician leader for more than two decades, he brings a practical clinical perspective to helping clients align providers, care teams, and operational leaders around meaningful, sustainable improvement.
His experience spans provider engagement, ambulatory clinical documentation improvement, perioperative services optimization, patient experience measurement, leadership coaching, and clinical workflow improvement. Adam has worked closely with physicians, medical informatics teams, compliance leaders, and operational executives to improve documentation, strengthen care team communication, and use data to support better quality, efficiency, patient experience, and financial performance.
Throughout Adam’s career, he has:
- Increased physician engagement at a major academic medical system from the 43rd percentile to the 76th percentile, supporting reduced provider turnover and improvements in patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Created a rolling patient experience survey for a large multispecialty group, enabling departments to assess the full patient journey from appointment scheduling through care delivery and use Net Promoter Score feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
- Worked with medical informatics, compliance, and provider teams to improve electronic medical documentation, supporting greater efficiency, stronger compliance, improved quality, better patient experience, and revenue improvement.
- Served as a physician subject matter expert in perioperative services optimization, using key performance indicator evaluation, data analytics, and staff interviews to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coached medical students, residents, fellows, attending physicians, and clinical leaders on communication practices, leadership skills, and team alignment in settings ranging from community hospitals to major academic medical centers.
Before joining Huron, Adam served as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he practiced urogynecology and served as Director of Physician Engagement. He also spent more than 10 years as Division Head of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Cooper University Health Care, where he practiced for more than 15 years. In addition to Division Head, his roles included Director of Ambulatory Clinical Documentation Improvement, Fellowship Program Director, and Committee Chair for Physician Engagement.
Adam earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and his fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Cooper University Hospital. He holds board certifications in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.
Adam is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. He has published scientific articles and lectured nationally and internationally in urogynecology.
Adam serves as secretary and founding board member of International Healthcare Volunteers, a nonprofit organization providing medical education and care to underserved women and their families, primarily in Ghana, West Africa.
