About Rey
Rey has more than 20 years of experience leading business and technology change across finance, supply chain, capital programs, workforce operations, and enterprise technology. His work reflects the operational and regulatory demands of the energy industry. He has led programs involving Oracle Fusion Cloud products, including Financials, Supply Chain, Project Management, Human Capital Management, Enterprise Performance Management, and analytics.
Rey treats AI as a business performance discipline. He starts with the outcome the organization is trying to achieve, then applies practical AI to workflows to automate work and improve decision quality. His approach connects AI to cloud and data investments, with governance that supports adoption. His broader work includes mergers and acquisitions integration, application portfolio rationalization, change management, and complex program delivery.
Across his career, Rey has:
- Led a strategic digital transformation for an investor-owned utility, modernizing planning and budgeting and establishing governance for later finance and supply chain initiatives.
- Directed an Oracle Cloud transformation for a midstream energy organization that brought regulated pipeline and unregulated operations onto a common platform. The program connected Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements with commercial needs and improved profitability visibility across the value chain. It also automated financial reporting.
- Served as program manager for a business transformation at an $8 billion energy company using Oracle Cloud enterprise applications and analytics. The program aimed to strengthen financial transparency and controls while lowering technology and compliance costs.
- Led the global design of enterprise applications for a privately held energy organization. The program was designed to improve scalability for future acquisitions and give leaders better tools for budgeting and performance insight.
- Advised the Chief Information Officer of a federal agency on the modernization of a $103 million application portfolio. He established governance, developed the modernization road map, and presented the future state to the board.
Before joining Huron, Rey founded and led a consulting business and held consulting leadership roles focused on Oracle solutions and technology strategy. His experience spans energy and utilities, healthcare, financial services, higher education, manufacturing, and the public sector.
Rey earned a Master of Science in Information Systems and E-Commerce from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish, with honors, from Michigan State University.
