Phil has almost 30 years of corporate finance experience, including nearly 20 years advising many of the country’s leading academic medical centers and nonprofit health systems on a range of capital markets and mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and real estate transactions.

About Phil

Phil has nearly two decades of experience advising healthcare organizations on financing their corporate strategies and optimizing their balance sheets, utilizing a variety of capital markets alternatives, including publicly issued fixed and variable rate tax-exempt and taxable bonds, private placements, structured finance vehicles, and interest rate swaps. Additionally, Phil has advised on hospital buy-side and sell-side transactions, joint ventures, and real estate financing partnerships.

Since 2002, Phil has served as an investment banker to national and regional health systems, leading academic medical centers and community hospitals. Most recently he was a managing director at Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC, where he supported clients through strategic assessments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets, and real estate transactions. He has also held leadership roles with Wells Fargo Securities’ public finance healthcare group, Goldman Sachs’ public finance healthcare group and Citi’s municipal securities healthcare group.

Prior to focusing on healthcare, Phil worked in the M&A advisory group at Houlihan Lokey and as an investment finance specialist at Citi Private Bank. He holds a master’s degree with honors in business administration from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
