At Huron, James leads a team responsible for developing growth and turnaround strategies for organizations across the consumer products space, including retailers and restaurants. He has an extensive background in all aspects of retail operations, including omnichannel merchandising, global sourcing, inventory management, digital marketing and analytics.
James thrives on helping retail organizations address some of their most complex issues, from real estate negotiations to supply chain management, inventory productivity and capital investment. He advises senior leaders across the consumer products space on strategies to improve financial performance by driving gross margins and reducing expenses.
Prior to joining Huron, Jim served as a senior adviser to retail executives, as well as to private equity and hedge funds investing in the consumer products space. He has held leadership positions at a number of national retailers, including Sears Holdings, where he oversaw a multibillion-dollar portfolio of businesses for over 2,000 Sears and Kmart stores, Target and Kozmo.com. James has served as a restructuring and turnaround adviser for Glass & Associates, as well as a management consultant for EY.
