About Brett

Brett provides restructuring, turnaround, and operational improvement expertise to companies navigating financial distress, liquidity constraints, and performance challenges. He advises executive management teams and boards through complex transactions and operating transformations designed to strengthen cash flow, improve profitability, and position businesses for sustainable recovery.

With more than 20 years of experience across a breadth of industries, including aerospace and defense, government contracting, metals, and technology, particularly software, Brett brings a practical, execution-focused approach to restructuring environments. His work spans debt restructurings, asset sales, Chapter 11 proceedings, liquidity management, and operational improvement initiatives. He is frequently engaged in interim leadership roles where disciplined cash management, stakeholder alignment, and transaction execution are critical to enterprise stability.

Throughout his career, Brett has:

  • Acted as chief strategy officer during the Chapter 11 sale process of a $400 million consumer products manufacturer, overseeing $53 million of debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing and managing six separate sale transactions under Section 363 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
  • Served as deputy chief restructuring officer (CRO) for a $500 million aerospace component manufacturer, guiding the company through a Chapter 11 reorganization that preserved the controlling equity ownership post-emergence.
  • Served as deputy CRO for a provider of e-commerce software solutions to the grocery space during its Chapter 11 sale process, managing all operating and restructuring activity for the company, including $10 million of DIP financing and a successful sale via Section 363 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
  • Served as financial adviser to a $300 million global software company, leading a nearly $700 million prenegotiated debt restructuring and implementing a $40 million operational improvement plan that resulted in more than doubling EBITDA and materially strengthening liquidity.
  • Led financial advisory efforts for multiple other large-scale court-supervised and out-of-court restructurings and asset sales, including business plan development, liquidity management, and resolution of multibillion-dollar claim structures.

Brett is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
