John is an experienced healthcare consulting leader who specializes in helping organizations navigate a range of financial, business strategy and regulatory challenges. He is an expert in governance issues and board development, and works closely with executive teams and boards to assess their organizations’ current-state performance and implement improvements.
Throughout his career, John has served as a client executive on major projects for organizations ranging from small hospitals to multifacility systems, helping realize financial benefits upward of $200 million. He has also advised healthcare businesses on conversion to nonprofit status, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
John was previously a principal at Wellspring Partners, which was acquired by Huron in 2007. Prior to that, he was the national director of Arthur Andersen LLP’s healthcare industry program and regional director of healthcare for the Pacific region. He was with Arthur Andersen for more than 30 years, serving as a national director for Catholic healthcare and a member of the firm’s national steering committee for healthcare, in charge of developing its national healthcare training program.
John is involved in multiple industry associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Washington State Hospital Association and the Estes Park Institute. He is also a clinical professor in the University of Washington School of Public Health’s Department of Health Services.
