About Martin
Martin leads integrated projects that blend broad market analytics with detailed operational reviews to drive tangible and sustainable change across his client’s organization. He has worked with healthcare organizations, including regional health systems, pediatric hospitals, medical groups, and cancer centers, to transform call center design, expansion, scheduling, and referral management.
An expert in electronic health record (EHR) implementation and optimization, Martin collaborates with leaders from payroll, human resources, nursing, and administration to develop strategic recommendations for technology, create greater access to systemic knowledge, and optimize staff scheduling using application programming interface (API) solutions. He also develops innovative solutions to identify consumer demand shifts and help health systems evolve to meet consumer needs.
Throughout his career, Martin has:
- Directed numerous engagements combining market, financial, and clinical data to help organizations assess strategic growth scenarios, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), new market entry, and care model design.
- Led a population health initiative for a local public health agency, resulting in identifying social health risks, clinical infrastructure gaps, and intervention costs at the local community level, resulting in grants of over $30 million awarded from the state the following budget cycle.
- Managed an ambulatory growth initiative for a medical group of more than 1,400 physicians and advanced practice providers, resulting in over $12 million in annual net revenue improvement.
Prior to joining Huron, Martin served as an implementation consultant at GE Healthcare, where he was responsible for project design, build, and configuration of the staffing and scheduling solution across hospitals of various sizes and specialties. He also worked closely with hospital staff from payroll, human resources, nursing, and administration to develop strategic recommendations, transfer knowledge, and optimize staff scheduling using API solutions. Prior to his time with GE Healthcare, Martin held the role of implementation consultant at Epic Systems, where he led the registration, scheduling, patient movement, and eligibility software implementation of a 150-bed hospital system at a multisite healthcare organization.
Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in corporate strategy from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
