Richard is an experienced higher education consultant who has spent more than 20 years leading institutions through enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations. He focuses on helping institutions transform their operations to achieve greater value from new and existing technology investments.
Richard has more than two decades of ERP implementation experience in the higher education industry. He specializes in technical program and project management, working with leaders to transform operational performance and drive technology adoption across their institutions. Richard is an expert in overseeing SaaS deployments of Workday solutions including human capital management (HCM), Financials, and Student.
Throughout his career, Richard has:
- Managed the successful vendor selection and phase zero implementation services for a statewide community college system in the Southeast.
- Served as an execution sponsor for a state board of regents consolidation effort totaling more than 40 separate higher education institutions.
- Led the functional specification process for the creation of a new advancement software solution for a prestigious private research institution.
- Oversaw a large-scale ERP implementation for a major Midwest university system.
Prior to joining Huron, Richard was a partner and the Workday higher education practice lead at IBM. Previously, he was the vice president for North American markets at Ellucian, where he was responsible for professional services sales and served as an executive sponsor for numerous North American clients. Richard has also worked in SAP’s global higher education line of business, was a leader in BearingPoint’s Midwest higher education practice and served as a consultant for PeopleSoft and KPMG Consulting.
Richard is a member of EDUCAUSE and presented on SaaS implementation readiness at the annual EDUCAUSE/NERCOMP conference in 2019.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in humanities from Milligan College.
