About Rick
Rick has more than three decades of healthcare industry expertise working with organizations across care settings to develop a balanced approach to performance and process improvement. He is a leader within Huron’s performance improvement team who brings a depth of knowledge in healthcare operations and supply chain management to help health systems, academic health centers and community hospitals operate more efficiently and grow margins.
Over the course of his career, Rick has led more than 25 hospitalwide performance improvement initiatives across the U.S. He has collaborated with healthcare leaders to identify up to $64 million in financial savings through nonlabor, supply chain, patient access and patient progression enhancements. He has also overseen a variety of projects aimed at standardizing supplies and services, improving logistical workflows and rethinking contracting strategies in order to reduce costs and engage physicians.
Rick was previously a regional vice president of clinical resource and spend management for MedAssets. Prior to MedAssets, he served as group vice president of performance solutions for AmerisourceBergen Corporation, where he led the pharmacy healthcare solutions team.
Rick is a member of multiple industry associations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Society for Health Systems (SHS). He frequently speaks at industry conferences and events on the topics of clinical resource management, healthcare operations and supply chain improvement.
