Tyler provides revenue cycle transformation expertise to healthcare organizations, including academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, and physician medical groups, to improve financial performance and build more effective, sustainable operations. His work spans performance improvement, process redesign, managed services and outsourcing transitions, and interim leadership.
Tyler has led revenue cycle and managed services engagements across hospitals and systems with annual net revenues ranging from $100 million to over $16 billion. He specializes in designing new operating models, implementing leading-practice technology and workflows, and stabilizing teams through leadership development, team coaching, and accountability frameworks. His experience includes interim revenue cycle leadership roles where he has delivered meaningful operational improvements and financial results.
Throughout his career, Tyler has:
- Served as vice president of revenue cycle for a $2 billion academic medical center, where he drove a 12% increase in staff engagement and over $40 million in cumulative cash improvements through operating model redesign, Epic optimization, and a new accounts receivable coverage strategy.
- Led the consolidation and operational transition of revenue cycle functions across more than 20 hospital and physician entities for a $16 billion health system, including Epic implementation planning, onboarding and training of new leaders, and standardization of performance metrics.
- Managed a systemwide performance improvement project across more than 75 hospitals for a national healthcare organization, standardizing revenue cycle operations and improving key functions, including insurance verification, billing, denials management, and customer service.
- Developed and implemented a patient financial clearance policy for a $1.8 billion system, improving preservice collections and authorization workflows and generating $12 million in recurring cash flow improvements.
