Amanda has more than 13 years of experience in ambulatory leadership and medical group consulting. She has specific expertise in improving the performance of providers and staff, enhancing ambulatory operations, and ensuring sustainable changes for all types of healthcare organizations, physician organizations and ambulatory practices.
About Amanda
In her seven years with Huron, she has led both qualitative and analytical assessments and implementations for a variety of clients, including children’s hospitals, academic health centers (AHCs) and large hospital systems. She has specific expertise in improving efficiency and productivity, developing and executing strategies to ensure financial sustainability, and creating enhanced patient access.
Throughout her consulting career, she has:
- Worked with numerous clients for a major healthcare company to identify opportunities around provider productivity and clinical capacity, clinical effort alignment and allocation, patient care teams, advanced practice provider utilization, operational efficiency, referral management and systemwide access to care.
- Co-led a faculty effort allocation and software project for a major Midwest children’s hospital and its affiliate university, including the development of a market-ready software solution that manages provider allocations and efforts, budgeting, performance and compensation.
- Completed ambulatory clinic redesign, operational redesign and clinical efficiency projects at multiple children’s hospitals, resulting in increased revenue and visits.
- Advised several hospital clients on Epic software optimization for ambulatory builds, access, outpatient operational process (e.g., scheduling, rooming, clinical documentation) and custom reporting needs.
Prior to Huron, Amanda has held previous leadership positions in hospital-owned practice plans, AHCs and private practice. Most recently, she served as the surgical services administrator at Stanford Children’s Health/Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, where she managed operations and led divisions of pediatric urology, ophthalmology and otolaryngology. Previously she consulted at Quorum Consulting Group, where she led ambulatory assessments and implementations focused on improving overall operations.
Amanda is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Amanda holds a master’s in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in marketing and communications studies from Clemson University. She is also a certified medical practice executive (CMPE) through the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE.)
