Five years ago, the emergence of third-party consortia and increased government regulation served as catalysts for standardizing operational data. Today, the modern university is flooded with data and the faculty and staff adept at analyzing it — yet it is not always optimized in a way that works best. What has higher education learned since then? What are the barriers to the maturation of data analytics practices, and what can we expect in the future?
