Selim has more than 30 years of experience advising education and government organizations on digital transformation, strategy, development, modernization, and implementation of applications and infrastructure to optimize processes and enhance organizational output.
About Selim
Selim provides strategic and functional expertise to education and public sector clients, helping them transform their cloud computing, data governance, business analytics, enterprise application integration, and infrastructure. He has led the creation of new service offerings for process optimization and developed business cases to enhance organizational output for large community college systems, private universities, and government organizations.
During his career, Selim has:
- Led a modernization program for the rollout of Oracle Cloud at a tier-one research university with $192 million in sponsored projects. The transformation facilitated the adoption of leading practices across major university business processes to ensure operational excellence and sustainability while meeting the program's overall objectives.
- Facilitated and contributed to the development of a comprehensive business case for change for private and public institutions.
- Conducted periodic and post-implementation external project health reviews, with recommendations to executive leadership to mitigate risk and to ensure the overall success of the project objectives for a large community college system serving more than 80,000 students.
Prior to joining Huron, Selim served as the global business development specialist for data migration and modernization for the worldwide public sector at Amazon Web Services. He held the role of chief community officer for Destiny Solutions Inc., a student management software provider for lifelong learners. He also served as a global solution architect at Oracle Corporation. In this role, he developed industry solutions across applications, technology, and hardware and led the effort of co-development of the first verticalized master data management solution. Selim also has served as a senior technology solution consultant for PeopleSoft USA Inc.
Selim holds a bachelor’s degree of business administration in management information systems from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
Selim participates in the Oracle Student Cloud Design Partner Program. He has spoken at nearly 20 industry conferences, including EDUCAUSE, WACUBO, CUNY IT Forum, Big Data Forum, HIUG, and multiple events for Oracle and Alliance.
