His experience spans electric, gas, water, and integrated energy companies, with deep expertise in enterprise asset management, field and customer operations, grid modernization, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, and large-scale platform transformation.
Cass brings a practical, outcomes-focused approach shaped by decades of experience leading large-scale change across the energy and utilities industry. His work spans the full infrastructure life cycle, including capital planning and construction, asset and work management, field service, customer operations, grid modernization, and enterprise platforms. He is passionate about building trusted client relationships and high-performing teams that can sustain transformation long after a program is complete.
Across his career, Cass has:
- Led a multiyear $300 million enterprise transformation for a major energy and utility company with more than 10 independent affiliates, establishing a common vision, governance model, and delivery approach across transmission and distribution, generation, renewable energy, and liquefied natural gas operations.
- Directed a customer and field operations transformation for a major utility organization in the Northeast, integrating scheduling, dispatch, mobility, resource management, and customer relationship management capabilities across gas and electric operations. The program improved service delivery and field execution while generating an approximately 15% return on investment and reducing operating expenses by approximately 10%.
- Advised utility executives on the development of an enterprise transformation strategy spanning customer service, asset management, field operations, geospatial technologies, data, organizational change, and agile delivery, creating an integrated road map for operational improvement and long-term value.
Prior to joining Huron, Cass served as a Managing Director at Accenture, where he held senior leadership roles across energy and utilities, intelligent asset management, engineering and manufacturing, field operations, and enterprise transformation. He also launched and scaled consulting practices with multidisciplinary teams.
Cass earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus on energy management and renewable energy from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Science in management information systems from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Florida State University.
