About Kyla
Kyla advises healthcare organizations on financial operations, performance improvement, budgeting, capital planning, and operational decision making. She brings a practical operator’s perspective, shaped by Chief Financial Officer (CFO) roles across community hospitals, regional medical centers, and large acute care facilities. Her experience spans hospital acquisitions, electronic medical record and enterprise system conversions, revenue cycle management, labor productivity, capital planning, supply management, throughput improvement, and financial planning. Kyla works closely with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to improve access to timely financial data, strengthen accountability, and support decisions that improve performance across the organization.
Throughout Kyla’s career, she has:
- Supported the implementation of more than 88 operational systems following a hospital acquisition, including electronic medical record, human resources, finance, and supply chain platforms, while directing Epic revenue cycle oversight during go-live with no material impact to facility revenue.
- Managed capital planning and request processes supporting $84 million in facility investments, including two additional freestanding emergency departments, and established a capital review committee to align capital decisions with long-term strategic goals.
- Improved financial and operational performance at a 208-bed hospital, including more than 10% improvement in EBITDA margin compared with the prior year, more than 7% improvement in geometric mean length of stay index, and stronger accounts payable controls that reduced received-not-invoiced accruals greater than 60 days from 31% to 0%.
- Led finance and operational improvement efforts at a 93-bed regional medical center that achieved 108% of budgeted EBITDA, increased point-of-service collections by more than 10%, maintained 100% or greater hospital productivity during each pay period, and reduced denials to less than 1% of net revenue.
- Collaborated with nursing leadership at a 1,131-bed hospital to develop standardized staffing grids by unit, incorporating targets into productivity management and position control processes that generated a reduction of approximately 110 full-time equivalents across nursing positions.
Before joining Huron, Kyla served as Chief Financial Officer for AdventHealth Port Charlotte and ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda, with earlier finance roles at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Beaumont Hospital, Astria Toppenish Hospital, Yakima Regional Medical Center, Central Washington Medical Group, Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center, and Midwest Regional Medical Center. Her experience includes hospital and clinic finance, revenue cycle management, operational budgeting, labor productivity, capital planning, emergency operations, and system conversion support.
Kyla earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Central Washington University.
