About Valerie
Valerie advises healthcare organizations on patient access and front-end revenue cycle strategies, with experience spanning contact center operations, scheduling, referral management, patient portals, nurse triage, revenue cycle administration, managed services, clinical coordination, solution design, and digital transformation. She helps clients evaluate where new operating models and external capabilities can improve access, strengthen performance, and support sustainable growth. Her experience also includes developing commercial and operating models designed to deliver measurable client value.
She works with clients from initial scoping and solution design through implementation, helping translate operational needs into scalable service models. Her work combines healthcare operations with a strong understanding of market needs, solution development, and client experience. Valerie has supported healthcare and public sector organizations across the U.S., Ireland, and the U.K., working with executives to shape patient-centered solutions that address access, engagement, administrative burden, and evolving workforce needs.
Valerie also brings a particular interest in smartsourcing and how healthcare organizations can strategically redesign administrative services. Her graduate research explored the motivations and perceptions influencing smartsourcing in healthcare, complementing her practical experience helping organizations evaluate and implement new approaches to service delivery.
Throughout Valerie’s career, she has:
- Helped a health system redesign its patient access model, combining centralization with outsourced managed services across primary care and specialty access, supported by technology-enabled workflows. The result: a 23% increase in scheduled appointments, contact center average speed of answer under 35 seconds, and higher patient satisfaction, all while reducing the cost to serve.
- Developed a contact center and patient engagement solution for a regional health system, addressing high call abandonment and limited access capacity, cutting call abandonment, improving service levels and patient experience, and reducing referral outreach turnaround to less than one business day from receipt.
- Advised an academic medical group on administrative service delivery and re-organization planning, helping leaders determine which capabilities to centralize, redesign, or transition.
Valerie previously served as Director of Business Development at RelateCare, which was acquired by Huron in 2026. During more than a decade with the organization, she supported its expansion across the U.S., Ireland, and the U.K. and worked with healthcare organizations on patient access, scheduling, nurse triage, revenue cycle administration, contact center, and smart sourcing solutions.
Valerie earned a Master of Business Administration with distinction in entrepreneurship and global consultancy practice from the University of Aberdeen and a first-class honors degree in international business from Waterford Institute of Technology (now South East Technological University). She was named School of Business Student of the Year during her undergraduate studies. She is a Certified Healthcare Access Associate.
