Ian is a strategic healthcare and financial advisor with more than 15 years of experience helping health systems, health plans, life sciences companies, and private equity-backed organizations navigate complex transactions, capital investment decisions, and operational transformation.
About Ian
Ian works across the transaction life cycle, from due diligence through integration and value realization. He has led more than 75 buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements and more than 10 multiyear transformation programs involving transactions from $1 billion to more than $10 billion in enterprise value. He also advises boards and executive teams on master facilities planning and capital prioritization, building phased investment road maps aligned with clinical strategy, demand, and financial capacity.
Throughout his career, Ian has:
- Delivered more than $70 million in cost savings within 18 months for the integration of a network with more than 80 hospitals and more than $50 million in savings for a $10 billion medical transport merger.
- Directed pharmaceutical and life sciences transactions, including six concurrent asset sales generating $5.2 billion in net proceeds, a $7.4 billion merger delivering more than $150 million in savings, and a spin-off achieving more than $100 million in cost savings in less than three years.
- Led transformation programs that integrated more than 30 physician practices into one of the Northeast's largest multispecialty networks, improved patient throughput 10% to 15% across targeted federal healthcare regions, and delivered more than $12 million in first-year savings for a private equity-backed international medical school.
Prior to Huron, Ian spent more than 14 years in PwC’s healthcare Deals practice assisting clients on transactions, integration, and strategic transformation initiatives.
Ian obtained a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Health Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. He is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, a Certified Associate in Project Management, a Certified Health Data Analyst, and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.
